Town Hall Meetings with Georgia Representatives

(The following information was obtained from the Atlanta Journal and Constitution regarding Georgia Representatives holding meetings with their constituents)

District 2: Sanford Bishop (D-Columbus)

Aug. 19, 4 p.m. at Fort Valley State University, Fort Valley.
Aug. 20, 10 a.m. at Kirbo Regional Center in Bainbridge.
Aug. 20, 4 p.m. at Albany State University, Albany.

District 4: Hank Johnson (D-Decatur)

District 7: John Linder (R-Duluth)
Thursday, 10 a.m. at Piedmont Regional Library, 189 Bell View St., Winder.
Thursday, 5 p.m. at Suwanee Library, 361 Main St., Suwanee.
Aug. 19, 10 a.m. at Monroe- Walton Library, 217 West Spring St., Monroe.
Aug. 19, 1 p.m. at Covington Library, 7116 Floyd Road, Covington.

District 10: Paul Broun (R-Athens)
Monday, 6 p.m. at Columbia Co. Board of Education, Evans.
Tuesday, 6 p.m. at North Georgia Technical College, Clarksville.

District 13: David Scott (D-Atlanta) -- Aug. 15, 10 a.m. at Mundy’s Mill High School, 9652 Fayetteville Road, Jonesboro.

Of the next two, hopefully Jack will have at least one more before the end of the month. If not, nobody can argue that he has not been doing his job. Also, don’t be misled by “meetings being planned” for Rep. Barrow. He was serving on the House committee which approved HR 3200, but voted against it and came to Georgia several times while this was being discussed (and afterwards) to get the People’s feedback.
District 1: Jack Kingston (R-Savannah) -- Has held nine meetings to date. No more planned.
District 12: John Barrow (D-Savannah) -- Staff says meetings being planned, but no dates yet.

As for these four, the jury is still out. We will see how dedicated some of these are in talking to their constituents.
District 3: Lynn Westmoreland (R-Grantville) -- Staff says meetings being planned, but no dates yet.
District 8: Jim Marshall (D-Macon) -- Staff says meetings being planned, but no dates yet.
District 9: Nathan Deal (R-Gainesville) -- Staff says meetings being planned, but no dates yet.
District 11: Phil Gingrey (R-Marietta) -- Staff says meetings being planned, but no dates yet.

For these two, pure arrogance and they will feel the pain in the next election.
District 5: John Lewis (D-Atlanta) -- Has held one meeting. No more planned.
District 6: Tom Price (R-Roswell) -- Has held one meeting. No more planned.

Oh, one other item:

If you can find where our two “illustrious” Georgian Senators, Chambliss and Isakson, are having town-hall type meetings with someone else (like We, the People) as opposed to paid donators to the Republican National Committee, please let me know by my email address wpconan1@windstream.net, or on Facebook (William P. Conant). I’ve made more phone calls, faxes and emails to their different offices and responses have been about their stand on health care reform but nothing addressing meeting with their constituents (their bosses) in Georgia. Again, arrogance and non-accessibility. We, the People in Georgia need a viable candidate to run against J. Isakson as a Republican next year.

NOW IS THE TIME TO REDISTRIBUTE THE U.S. CONSTITUTION

(RE: S. CON. RES. 35)

Now is the time for all good Representatives and Senators to ensure that they have enough copies of the U.S. Constitution so that they (and their staff) know what fundamental basis they are working for.

At least that’s the way Senate Concurrence Resolution 35 (which was created in concurrence with the House of Representatives) wants every watchdog following the actions of Congress to believe. Apparently, the members of both houses in Congress are more patriotic these days and they want to ensure that their staff and their constituents are as well. Following is the corroborative text to this Resolution:

In addition to the usual number, there shall be printed the lesser of—
(1) 551,000 copies of the document, of which 441,000 copies shall be for
the use of the House of Representatives, 100,000 copies shall be for
the use of the Senate, and 10,000 copies shall be for the use of the
Joint Committee on Printing; or
(2) such number of copies of the document as does not exceed a total
production and printing cost of $218,379, with distribution to be
allocated in the same proportion as described in paragraph (1),
except that in no case shall the number of copies be less than 1 per Member of Congress.

Passed the Senate July 24, 2009.

I don’t want to bust their “bubble”, but the National Center for Constitutional Studies (www.nccs.net) and the Heritage Foundation (www.heritage.org) have been selling pocket copies of the U.S. Constitution, which also includes the Declaration of Independence, at bulk prices which are less than what you see in this resolution. I’m sure that they would be willing to sell this mass order to the Congressional Members at an even better deal. Enough levity; now for the real questions we should ask:
1. Why this recent interest in carrying pocket copies of the Constitution so that We, the People know that they care about the rules and laws as derived from the Constitution (or at least they should be)?! Particularly, why now?
2. What benefit does the Senate and the House gain by passing this resolution? History has repeatedly shown that key members of both houses don’t sponsor bills unless they “profit” in some way.

Well, I believe the “proof is in the pudding”. This S. Con. Res. 35 was sponsored by Charles Shumer (NY), referred to the House Administration Committee, passed the committee vote, referred to the Senate and passed the Senate vote by Unanimous Consent on July 24, 2009; all of this in one day. Now this Resolution has been referred to the House for vote. However, keep in mind that debate may be taking place on a companion resolution in the House, rather than on this particular resolution. Now how could We, the People be against any bill being processed thru the House that also contains this patriotic gesture? It’s simple; keep up with S. Con. Res. 35 (try tracking with www.govtrack.us ) and see which legislation this is attached to. The top “dogs” of both houses will use this “patriotic gesture” to appease some voting members in order to get a very expensive legislative matter passed on Capitol Hill. You heard it here first. But, what do I know; I’m just an American Patriot.

The Obama administration has violated the LAW.

By firing the Inspector General last week, the Obama administration has openly violated the Inspector General Reform Act of 2008, which was signed into law on 10/14/08. Following is the particular section of this law that has placed the Obama administration in open violation of the law of our country:

HR 928, 110TH CONGRESS
(SIGNED AS LAW ON 10/14/2008)

SEC. 3. REMOVAL OF INSPECTORS GENERAL.
(a) ESTABLISHMENTS.—Section 3(b) of the Inspector General Act of 1978 (5 U.S.C. App.) is amended by striking the second sentence and inserting ‘‘If an Inspector General is removed from office or is transferred to another position or location within an establishment, the President shall communicate in writing the reasons for any such removal or transfer to both Houses of Congress, not later than 30 days before the removal or transfer. Nothing in this subsection shall prohibit a personnel action otherwise authorized by law, other than transfer or removal.’’.
(b) DESIGNATED FEDERAL ENTITIES.—Section 8G(e) of the Inspector General Act of 1978
(5 U.S.C. App.) is amended by striking ‘‘shall promptly communicate in writing the reasons for any such removal or transfer to both Houses of the Congress.’’ and inserting ‘‘shall communicate in writing the reasons for any such removal or transfer to both Houses of Congress, not later than 30 days before the removal or transfer. Nothing in this subsection shall prohibit a personnel action otherwise authorized by law, other than transfer or removal.’’.
Although some news agencies have reported on the firing of the Inspector General, they have failed to site the actual law that was openly violated, even Fox News, Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly. Apparently, the news media is hesitant to let We, the People know that an actual law has been violated by the executive branch. How long will we allow this usurping of the laws of our nation and of our U.S. Constitution to continue? When will the news media accurately report how the Constitution was violated by the creation of "czars", who can establish policy without being liable to being called before any House or Senate committee? It's time for We, the people to demand justification from our government and accurate reporting from our news media.

FastTracking on the "American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009

I sent the following to several members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee regarding Rep. Waxman's desire to push this legislation, which is still in draft form without a HR #, through the Committee by end-of-day Thursday (5/21/09):
FIRST, this is NOT a politically-generated argument against the so-called “carbon tax” bill. Rather, I will try to convince you to review this legislation very cautiously with scientific and economical proposals.
It is imperative that the House Energy and Commerce Committee carefully deliberate on the proposed 648 page “American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009”. Since plans by Rep. Waxman is to push this through your committee by end of day tomorrow (Thursday), no one can justify how they gave this important legislation careful review in just one day. The subcommittee members have been working on this legislation proposal for several days, but the remaining Committee members must insist on reviewing this proposal in an efficient and careful manner. I will address 2 points regarding this proposal. First, you must be careful if you think that a “smart grid” will work efficiently. Having over 20 years experience working in a nuclear power plant, I can attest through experience and observation that synchronizing the energy output from an electrical-producing facility with the electrical grid takes crucial coordination, and this is using the output from a consistently supplying source. Locking into the grid by only one-tenth of a second early or late can cause serious problems with the grid-coordinating facility accepting the output and also causes generator problems with the electrical-producing facility. Now imagine trying to accurately tie into the electrical grid with an inconsistent source, such as from wind generation and solar energy generation. Changes in atmospheric conditions such as wind speed deviations or temporary loss of consistent generation due to adverse weather conditions would be detrimental to synchronizing into the electrical grid. If changes in atmospheric conditions occurred during the period of synchronizing with the electrical grid, this could result in brownouts within small communities (which will probably be your main “client” of electricity from wind or solar generating facilities) and probable generator problems at the source of electrical output. This is very costly on a large scale and would be costly even on a smaller scale when discussing wind or solar generation. I’ll close on this point by pointing out that this proposal is for 2 megawatt-electric facilities; this is on the scale with typical nuclear power plant electrical outputs ranging from 1400 to over 1800 megawatt-electric (keep this in mind when deliberating on wind and solar generation and my discussion regarding synchronizing with electrical grids). Now for my second point: When presented with findings from an OMB –released document (Deliberative-Attorney Client Privilege) at a Senate hearing on 5/12/09, EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson was unable to justify that EPA-sponsored studies performed several years ago were based on “scientific” findings as related to greenhouse gas emissions (CO2) affects on public health or global warming studies. The OMB document also pointed out the recommendations of the EPA-sponsored studies would create adverse economic impacts to small communities and small businesses. The memo also states “In the absence of a strong statement of the standards being applied in this decision, there is concern that EPA is making a finding based on…’harm’ from substances that have no demonstrated direct health effects,” the memo says, adding that the “scientific data that purports to conclusively establish” that link was from outside EPA.
Again, I implore that you insist on spending the proper amount of time needed to review this 648-page legislation so that careful and deliberate researching and debate can be achieved. There is not an emergent need for this to fast-track thru your committee. We have the time to make our decisions based on logical and informed conclusions.
Thank you for your consideration,
William P. Conant
Mount Vernon, Georgia

How long will We, the People allow Congress and Obama push through costly legislation thru Congress? Remember, they work for us serving our needs, not the other way around.

ACCESS AND ACCOUNTABILITY TO YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS

This is particularly for my fellow citizens in Georgia; however, this is also for all fellow Patriots in America as well:
This is a letter I sent to Saxby Chambliss, with a copy going to Johnny Isaakson and John Barrow (my district's U.S. Representative) using Congress.org:
(The following is an email sent thru Saxby's Senate website earlier this evening)

Saxby, I have sent several concerns regarding current issues within our federal government to you in the past few weejs. I continually get the following reply:
I appreciate hearing from you and knowing your concerns. This automated response serves as a receipt of your e-mail message and allows me to respond to your direct question or comment in a more timely manner. *** If you are having a problem with a specific government agency, the Federal Privacy Act of 1974 requires that I have your written authorization, signed by you, in order to contact the agency about the problem. Since electronic communications do not meet the requirements of the Federal Privacy Act, please call 1-800-234-4208 or visit my website and select "How Can We Help?" from the menu at the left, then select "Help with Federal Agencies" for information on beginning the process.***

However, my issues have not centered on a specific government agency. Thus, how do I get in touch with one of my Senators for help? I have no problem getting responses back from Johnny Isaakson, even though he has yet been able to directly respond to any concerns at hand. What do I need to do to get some kind of response from you that is not an automated response?

(The following is the response I received from Saxby shortly after sending the first email):
Thank you for contacting me. Representing the State of Georgia in the United States Senate is an honor and a privilege. Since electronic communications do not meet the requirements of the Federal Privacy Act, please call 1-800-234-4208 or visit my website and select "How Can We Help?" from the menu at the left, then select "Help with Federal Agencies" for information on beginning the process.*** Thank you again for taking the time to contact me. I look forward to staying in touch. Very truly yours, Saxby Chambliss

Look familiar?! In my correspondence thru Congress.org, I included this and informed Saxby that I and some fellow Georgian contemporaries whom I have talked/chatted with are fed up with being unable to raise any type of reasonable response from our elected officials in Washington. Even though I don't agree with all of his actions and votes in the House, John Barrow has been very responsive and even agreed with me on some issues and acted on one particular issue as I had recommended (I'm sure he was getting other correspondence to the same effect as what I was requesting). My point to Saxby Chambliss was that we, as Georgians, were becoming (or were already) fed up with the inability to access our elected officials. If this was going to be continued, then we would be handing out pink slips in their next elections. My message to all U.S. citizens is to continue to try to reach your elected representatives in government. If they cannot respond in a reasonable fashion (anything but the same automated response), then it's time to replace them in their next respective elections.

Term Limits and Supreme Court case vs Thornton decision

The XVII Amendment strictly defines the composition of Senators from each state and the method to be used by the applicable state to replace it's Senator if a vacancy appears. Nothing within this Amendment remotely refers to or is inherit to term limits of Senators. Article I of the U.S. Constitution defined a method for the state to replace Representatives; hence, the 17th Amendment was invoked to provide a means to replace the Senator, when applicable. Again, for Article 1, no obvious or implied references to term limits are contained within the Article. In U.S. Term Limits vs. Thornton, Judge Stevens argument was invalid because he invoked the definition that restricting term limits within the states was a violation of people's rights for selecting their representatives as granted by Article I. However, he failed to see that when a state puts up a state Amendment for voting to limit terms of the elected representatives of the state to the U.S. Congress, for either house, the result of the voting for that state Amendment was a declaration by the people of that state to the majority of their wishes, which was granted within the wording of the Constitution. The Constitution mandates to the federal government those powers which involves the whole people as a nation. As James Madison wrote in "The Federalist Papers", [paraphrase] the poweres delegated to the federal government are few and and defined. The powers delegated to the States are numerous and indefinite. The powers delegated to the federal government are principally on external matters, such as war, peace and foreign commerce. The powers reserved to the states are those which directly or indirectly affect the lives, liberties and properties of the people and the order, improvement and prosperity of the state. Hence, the wishes of the majority of any state's population as it affects the order, improvement and prosperity of that state and does not affect the definition of the powers of the federal government are not unconstitutional when those wishes are voted in as a majority of the state's populace, which reflects the people's wishes within that state. This closely relates to the dissenting argument by judge Thomas. "U.S. Term Limits vs. Thornton" clearly violates states' rights as granted by the Constitution and needs to be readdressed again.

PELOSI, GOSS, THE CIA AND THE HOUSE INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEE

Did you read the Washington Post, April 25, 2009 article by Porter Goss? Following are excerpts from this article which prompted Nancy Pelosi to claim that she was never briefed by the CIA of the “enhanced interrogation techniques” used, including waterboarding, during a House Intelligence Committee hearing in the fall of 2002:
“Since leaving my post as CIA director almost three years ago, I have remained largely silent on the public stage. I am speaking out now because I feel our government has crossed the red line between properly protecting our national security and trying to gain partisan political advantage. We can't have a secret intelligence service if we keep giving away all the secrets. Americans have to decide now. A disturbing epidemic of amnesia seems to be plaguing my former colleagues on Capitol Hill. After the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, members of the committees charged with overseeing our nation's intelligence services had no higher priority than stopping al-Qaeda. In the fall of 2002, while I was chairman of the House intelligence committee, senior members of Congress were briefed on the CIA's "High Value Terrorist Program," including the development of "enhanced interrogation techniques" and what those techniques were. This was not a one-time briefing but an ongoing subject with lots of back and forth between those members and the briefers. Today, I am slack-jawed to read that members claim to have not understood that the techniques on which they were briefed were to actually be employed; or that specific techniques such as "waterboarding" were never mentioned….Let me be clear. It is my recollection that:
-- The chairs and the ranking minority members of the House and Senate intelligence committees, known as the Gang of Four, were briefed that the CIA was holding and interrogating high-value terrorists.
-- We understood what the CIA was doing.
-- We gave the CIA our bipartisan support.
-- We gave the CIA funding to carry out its activities.
-- On a bipartisan basis, we asked if the CIA needed more support from Congress to carry out its mission against al-Qaeda.
I do not recall a single objection from my colleagues. They did not vote to stop authorizing CIA funding. And for those who now reveal filed "memorandums for the record" suggesting concern, real concern should have been expressed immediately -- to the committee chairs, the briefers, the House speaker or minority leader, the CIA director or the president's national security adviser -- and not quietly filed away in case the day came when the political winds shifted. And shifted they have. “
Recall, Porter Goss was director of the CIA from September 2004 to May 2006 and was chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence from 1997 to 2004. Nancy Pelosi was the ranking Democratic of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence during 2002 and has been confirmed as being physically in attendance during the briefings. So, either she was sleeping during the briefings, has brief memory lapses (apparently at the most opportune times) or is simply lying. The facts point to the latter. Pelosi’s credibility (or what little she might have had to most American’s eyes) is eroding away as the minutes march by. If Obama really thinks that the House will effectively be able to pass his desired legislation, he must consider pushing Pelosi into relinquishing her role as Speaker of the House. Personally, I would rather see Pelosi simply disappear from the Washington “world of politics”. Perhaps the other untrustworthy delegates in the House (like Franks and Murtha, for examples) might get the message that “there, by the grace of God, go I” and work on reforming their own principles and values. It’s obvious that so many members in both houses of Congress, from both parties, have no idea of the values and principles followed by our Framers of the Constitution during their successful effort of creating the U.S. Constitution.

Persistence leads to TRUE CHANGE

Good news, Americans. Today or yesterday, Rep. John Barrow joined fellow Georgian representatives along with other representatives of both parties to co-sponsor HR 1207, The Federal Reserve Transparency Act. This legislation makes the Comptroller General more accountable to releasing the audits of the Federal Reserve to the appropriate committees in a much more timely manner and will make these audits more accessible to all Americans. I had sent an email to Rep. Barrow to live up to his values and principles that I know he believes in and sign on as a co-sponsor. His response back to me was that he was firmly in support of ths Act and felt that it was imperative to have it finished in committee and passed on the floor. I am sure I wasn't the only Georgian asking for his support, but it was nice to see a "politician" on the Hill "do the right thing",

Embezzlement of funds between ACORN, SEI and CCI

Pressure must be placed on our elected representatives and Senators in Washington to aggressively investigate and prosecute the abuse of taxpayer funds given to ACORN for many years. As a citizen of Georgia, I sent the following emails to my district representative, John Barrow and both U.S. Senators from Georgia:
The time is long overdue for Congress (both houses) to investigate the flow and transfer of funds from ACORN to CCI and SEI's involvement. Documents have already been released from ACORN executives that show how CCI, through Drummond Pike and TIDES Foundation, have embezzled funds out of ACORN to individuals employed thru ACORN, SEI and the TIDES Foundation. This is taxpayer money which has funded ACORN for many years. Stop worrying about championship playoffs in college basketball and steroid use in sports and concentrate on prosecuting the organizations and individuals involved in this money laundering scam. Have your fellow contemporaries in both houses forgotten why they are employed on Capitol Hill? It is obvious that Reps. Nadler and Conyers forgot a long time ago. This raises an important question: How many Congressmen from both houses have become as corrupt as these organizations? Please work hard to get to the truth and take the appropriate legal steps to prosecute all guilty individuals and organizations.

I implore all American citizens to demand action from their representatives and both Senators of your states to aggressively approach, demand investigations and prosecute all guilty parties, whomever or whatever they may be. But what do I know; I'm only an American.

FOLLOWUP TO "DHS RISK LEXICON" REPORT

This document was released from the Risk Steering Committee in September, 2008. So the questions are: Even though the current administration's response to outrage from the contents of this document were [paraphrasing] 'The document was not properly vetted before release', are we to believe that today's administration does not support this document, especially since they never gave their opinions regarding this document? What was the Bush administration up to by allowing this document to be classified? And are we to believe that the Obama administration does not support the "findings" of this document? As I have been insinuating in previous blogs, American rights are being sold down the river and this has been going on for far too long. But what do I know; I'm just an American.

THE DHLS IS AT IT AGAIN

Earlier this week, a classified document was declassified by the Dept. of Homeland Security (document titled DHS Risk Lexicon), as released by a "Risk Steering Committee" and signed by the Executive Secretary and Undersecretary of the National Protectorate and Programs Directorate of the DHLS. This document was declassified after We, the people were able to get it on the Internet. For the second time in the last two months, Pres. Obama and the DHLS have been caught trying to classify 'anti-gun legislation, tax reformists (or haters according to this document), Natural Law (or common law) believers, movements dedicated to abortion or immigration, and Christian patriots and Constitutionalists, just to name a few' as examples of the following quote from this document:

A rightwing extremist movement composed ofgroups or individuals who adhere to an antigovernmentideology often incorporating various conspiracy theories.Members oppose most federal and state laws, regulations, andauthority (particularly firearms laws and regulations) andoften conduct paramilitary training designed to resistperceived government interference in their activities or tooverthrow the U.S. Government through the use of violence

This is the second time in the past two months that classified documents from the DHLS have been fortunately leaked onto the Internet, resulting in the department to declassify these documents. And how do they respond to this abusive nature: (paraphrasing) 'We're sorry. We did not intend to offend any American citizens. We did not intend to offend our active military and veterans. This document was not properly vetted before release as a classified document.' My questions: how many more documents of this nature are still on file as classified documents? When is the national outrage going to occur where American citizens demand of all Congressmen of both houses to investigate as to why the current DHLS is fixated on classifying American citizens who do not believe in the current administration's policies as extremists and potential terrorists? I've sent my emails to my Representative and Senators of Georgia to demand their actions on this issue. I'll continue to push this issue until actions are appropriately taken or I'm dead. I don't know about you, but I'm completely fed up. But what do I know; I'm just an American.

The Founders warned us about paying off our own debt

The Founders of our Constitution regarded "not paying back on your own debt" as immoral. As stated by Thomas Jefferson (as can be found in Writings of Thomas Jefferson), "we shall all consider ourselves unauthorized to saddle posterity with our debts, and morally bound to pay them ourselves; and consequently within what may be deemed the period of the generation, of the life [expectancy] of the majority." In other words, each generation has the responsibility to pay down on their debts, as opposed to passing them onto their children and grandchildren (the next generations). This is applicable at home, on the local scale and within our state and federal governments. This principle was fervently practiced by our state and federal governments until the early 60s. JFK believed in this principle and had policies on standby to implement and ensure that our federal budget was in the black by the end of his term. However, LBJ ignored many of those policies and allowed "spending before revenue" policies to begin a trend which has turned into a "monster" in just the last few years. These policies, which include continuous printing of new money to pay for budget deficits, have led We, the people into a ongoing recession which may not be resolved for the next few years, the possibility of hyperinflation which would result from foreign investors (e.g., China) to no longer investing in our bonds and treasuries; thus resulting in large decrease in the value of the U.S. dollar, and currently leaving our children with owing over $100,000 dollars in tax revenue per year just for the interest of our national debt. We, the people have allowed this to happen thru our apathy when practicing our constitutional rights to vote and be engaged in political policies. We, the people must fight to right this wrong and find representatives for our state and federal governments who believe in and will practice within our values and principles as expected by the framers of the Constitution. Do you have the guts to become more involved or will you continue to complain with no substantiation? The choice is ours to make.
But what do I know: I'm just an American.

CHALLENGE TO AMERICAN CITIZENS

Here is a challenge to the American citizens:
“Effective resistance to usurpers is possible only provided the citizens understand their rights and are disposed to defend them.” (The Federalist, No. 28, Alexander Hamilton).
I cannot more perfectly express the means that We, the people have at our Constitutional disposal to rid ourselves of federal, state and local “politicians” who have forgotten who they work for and continue to ignore the demands of their constituents. We, the people must become organized within our state and local levels and continuously barrage our “leaders” with our displeasure of their inadequacies and express what our needs are. We have no choice, my fellow American citizens. The federal government has established outrageous spending policies which, along with their current proposals, will establish a record debt of over ten trillion dollars within the next 5 years. This same trend is being implemented in a majority of our states (for example, California, Georgia, New York, etc.) and within at least some major cities (for example, Sacramento, CA; Atlanta, GA; New York, New York; Detroit, MI; etc.). Currently, according to the Congressional Budget Office, our children and grandchildren will be left with a debt of over one hundred thousand dollars per year for each individual. Is this reckless direction what the framers of our Constitution intended when they painstakingly created the Constitution of the USA in 1787? Of course not. Our Constitution provides us with the means to right the wrongs brought upon us by professional politicians, particularly the actions taken within the last year. This will take a concerted effort to convince our elected officials that they are taking our country down the wrong path. If they do not change their policies and political philosophies, then it will be time for We, the people to hand out pink slips in 2010, 2012 and beyond. But we don’t have much time to change the direction our country is heading so we must all work hard and fast. Thus, the challenge to all Americans: will you become more involved in our political system and work to right the wrongs bestowed upon us? We, the people have no choice; we must act now.
But what do I know: I’m just an American.

Why is the DHS secretary so paranoid?

Have you read the latest release from the Department of Homeland Security, issued on 04/07/09? It's titled "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling
Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment". This document (or as they call it "analysis") is a paranoid posting and will probably be the philosophy that the DHS will follow in "identifying" right-wing extremists. Though issued on 04/07/09 and sent to federal, state and local law agencies, this document was intended to be a "classified" document. However, when certain law enforcement agencies decided that this document needed to be accessible and released phrases to the Internet, DHS declassified the document and made it accessible to news agencies and the population at large. Gosh, how nice of them; maybe we should believe that comments by Secretary Napolitano and associates regarding statements made within the document were not attended to offend or antagonize certain groups of people (for example, active military and veterans, citizens of all races, "right-wing extremists" who practice their freedom of speech rights to voice/express our opinions regarding our government; WAIT A MINUTE, THIS INCLUDES EVERY CITIZEN WITHIN THE USA). Yes, my friends, it appears that Ms. Napolitano is scared of every citizen within our country, particularly those who dare to express dissatisfaction with our government's actions (past and present; federal and state/local). And apparently our current president has the same issues. I agree that this document is based on hypotheses, but it was completely uncalled for to even entertain most of the assumptions made within this document, much less insulting all types of American citizens. Let's see who were referred to as potential "right wing extremists": the unemployed, those who are having problems establishing credit, those who have experienced foreclosures on real estate, those who disagree on proposals for new restrictions on firearms, returning military personnel reintegrating into their communities, citizens who are concerned about the ongoing economy and job losses, those of us who are concerned about illegal immigrants, and on and on. My fellow Americans, We the people do not have to put up with the insulting paranoid statements made within this document/"analysis". Barrage all representatives and Senators in Washington and express your outrage. Now, when I say "barrage", I mean flood their offices with your opinions. These idiots must wake up to the American citizens' dissatisfaction with the ongoings within our federal bureaucracies. And for God's sake, Mr. President and Ms. Napolitano, please do not insult out active military and veterans. They deserve our country's appreciation and support for their sacrificies; not be treated by their Commander-In-Chief the 60's and early 70's antagonists treated returning Vietnam veterans. If you haven't read the full document, go to http://wnd.com/images/dhs-rightwing-extremism.pdf and see it for your self.
Last weekend, I sent an email to the Augusta, GA Tea Party coordinators expressing concern as to what direction the Augusta Tea Party would take(see my last post on 04/09/09). At the time, it appeared to me that the emphasis was going to be on political bashing of the Democratic party, as opposed to the actual intent of these Tea Parties. I attended the Tea Party at the Amphitheatre and I am glad to say that I had misled myself. My congratulations to the organizers on a successful “protest” with such a limited time to prepare. The commanding theme from the speakers was that the problems that we face and are “angry” about were caused by people of both parties in Washington and in our state. The statement was repeated many times regarding the misuse of our tax dollars and the excessive expenditures started years ago and now it is time for We, the People to become more involved in solving these problems before our children and grandchildren find themselves with the burden of our expanding problems today and in the near future. The organizers of this event did a find job (in such a limited time) to find some excellent speakers who represented Americans’ displeasure with our federal and state governments.
So, once again, I am glad that I was proven wrong and I am proud that I was part of the Augusta Tea Party. I look forward to participating in further ventures and will provide my support and actions, if needed. I am a strong advocate of putting our American principles and values back into our government, as was intended by our framers of the Constitution. I noted to the "Augusta Tea Party" of this blog site, which is designed to educate my fellow citizens of the importance of removing our elected representatives in both houses at Capitol Hill and finding leaders who will truly represent our needs and desires, as they should have been doing for the last 20 years.

Remember what the Tea Parties Represent

I was just looking at the site for the organization organizing the Tea Party in Augusta, GA on 4/15/09. It appears to have very little "enthusiastic" support just from appearances on the website and it's blog section. From first impression, one gets the idea that this will be a rally for "Republicans" to vent their frustrations and outrage against the ongoing administration. WE, the People, must remember that the problems of wasteful spending, taxation without representation and continued efforts to control our everyday lives thru control of financial markets, including banking and the housing market, along with many other measures being taken have been ongoing problems long before Obama came on board; he's just exasperating the problems with his policies. Regarding the previous comment about taxation without representation, I'll say this: I know that new taxes can only be initially sponsored within the House, but isn't it obvious that our representatives the WE, the People voted into office are no longer representing us regarding our needs; YOU DECIDE!! I make these statements to show that these are some of the topics that we are holding Tea Parties for BECAUSE THESE ARE AMERICAN PROBLEMS, NOT POLITICAL IDEOLOGICAL PROBLEMS. So, if anyone can help the organizers at augustateaparty.org, then please do so. I'm trying but if we don't get their efforts in the right direction, then Augusta, GA's Tea Party will be a joke for the biased news affiliates to use for their advantage.

TITLE: How to Keep Your Promises and Tell the Truth

If you want to work on how to keep your promises, please don’t take the examples of Barack Obama, Her Highness Nancy Pelosi or His Greatness Harry Reid. Remember the pledges by Reid and Pelosi to have completed legislative pieces (prior to final voting) on the applicable website for at least 48 hours so that we (the people) and their constituents on Capitol Hill could make a final review. Guess what: THEY LIED (NO SURPRISE THERE, WOULDN’T YOU AGREE). The previous Omnibus “spending” package was changed again and again to the point that the special commission was still putting final touches on the House version while they were being forced to vote on the bill in the House. Granted John Boehner complained about this, but let’s ask this question: John, what are you going to do to prevent this from happening again? My answer for John: stick to your principles of fairness and honesty; talk to your constituents across the aisle until they are sick of hearing from you. Then continue talking to them. I’ll wager that you will eventually get some support from representatives that you never expected. In other words, QUIT WHINING WHEN TALKING TO THE PRESS AND START BEING PRODUCTIVE. We, the people who elected these representatives to office, are sick and tired of being lied to. Capitol Hill is being put on notice that if you can’t govern in the name of your constituents who elected you, be prepared to receive pink slips in 2010 and 2012.
Now regarding our President, let me say that I was disappointed that we, the people of the USA, were not able to find a better candidate in this past election. But I started off by giving B.O. a chance and see if he could live up to some of his promises. But, alas, he apparently does not have it in him to do so. Remember the promises to not select lobbyists who previously lobbied in the area of expertise (such as a particular department or two). HE LIED (TWICE); undersecretary to the Defense (lobbied for Raytheon) and Treasury Secretary (do I really have to tell you what he’s done in the recent past). B.O. also promised that all bills submitted to the White House would be available on the White House website for at least 4 days before signing (earlier in his campaign he said 5). HE LIED AGAIN!!! B.O. has signed into law at least 3 very significant bills (that I can account for at this moment) and yet no chance for review by We, the people.
How can we trust “Washington, D.C.” to tell We, the people the truth about their actions. They have forgotten that they work for us, not the other way around. We, the people deserve better representation and leadership. This old “Washington” game, which has been going on long before this year’s antics, has got to stop NOW. It’s up to We, the people to demand fairness, telling the truth and honesty within our government at all times or there is going to be a lot of pink slips in the near future. By the way, how have your state and local governments been doing when comes to practicing these principles and values? That bad, huh!!
But what do I know: I’m just an American.

USA held for ransom

We are being held for ransom to the highest bidder. "How can that be", you might ask. Well, it's quite simple. Our Federal Reserve has been printing out new money by the truckloads to cover for the extensive spending the federal government has been so "intimately" involved with especially for the past few years. It has really become egregious in the past few months. This is leading to devaluation of our dollar, which is causing our financial backers (who are generally foreign investors such as China ( appx. 25%), the UK, Switzerland and others to question whether they should get out of their investments while they can and take their losses. Who can blame them; we are only over 3 trillion dollars in national debt and growing exponentially, thanks to good ole Uncle Sam. Even a majority of our states have adopted the notion that we can spend more than we can collect, but we will still survive. WAKE UP, PEOPLE!!! We are being sabotaged by our own elected officials and they don't care. Let's say that our financial backers pack up and run while they can (By the way, it is already happening; why do you think that countries like Venezuela and Russia are standing by with happy faces?!). That leaves us with a serious devalued dollar and a DEPRESSION the likes of which this country has never seen. What ever happened to the philosophy of the government serves my needs, not the other way around; or even better, I serve my country, pay my taxes, give to charity as I please and as often as I possibly can and yet our elected officials serve only for themselves and their supporting cast of lobbyists and financial backers (Yes, I even mean you, George Soros). We, the people, have got to become organized to the point that our elected officials will really stand up with us and listen and heed as we cry out: We are not putting up with your selfish, petty, ignorant and "yessir, master, whatever you say, master" attitudes anymore. Do your jobs as we assigned you to do when we elected you into office or be prepared to find yourselves on the street. Eventually, we can find someone with God-given morals/values and principles who will work for the true citizens of this country (that's you and I, not the fatcat lobbyists and grotesque financial backers who expect everything for themselves and the heck with the rest of us).
